Kathy Harvey is the Associate Dean for the MBA and Executive Degree programmes at Saïd Business School, and a Fellow of Keble College, Oxford University. Kathy directs the Entrepreneurship Project teaching for the Oxford Executive MBA and has also taught stakeholder management, crisis management and the leadership of teams. She is a founding member of the School’s Coaching Community and has coached founders and start-up teams for the last ten years. Kathy began her career in journalism, working as a radio reporter, TV lobby correspondent and Commissioning Editor before starting her own consulting business and then moving into academia. At Oxford University’s Saïd Business School, she became a programme director and innovator, designing and developing programmes for global executives. She went on to direct the School’s Executive MBA, developing a global footprint for the programme and leading it as Programme Director through a period of growth and re-design. She is passionate about the need for corporate diplomacy in an uncertain world, about the future of her children and the intangible benefits of a a good conversation. Outside work she has served as an Independent Monitor for one of the UK’s biggest prisons and is currently a trustee of the Orwell Foundation, which honours the work of George Orwell, celebrating modern untold stories and working to expose social evils through writing and public debate.
